The business partnership between Ronél van Graan and Fay Muller started as a friendship when they met as educators at a small Christian school in the late 90’s. Their first business partnership started on the 23^rd of January 2001 when they opened the door at Active Home School Academy with 7 children.  The business rapidly grew into a well-known homeschooling academy, servicing families around the country and in various parts of the world.

The need for a second business partnership came about when it became evident that education, as they had known it, needed to come in line with the emergence of the 4^th industrial revolution.  Active Home Education Institute was born on 13 August 2018, offering the online answer to a world class, cutting edge, digital curriculum for Christian Home Education.
