PC Requirements

Minimum hardware and software specifications required to use the Ignitia learning platform.

Computer Specifications

Hardware

Your computer should meet the minimum system requirements before you install and use Firefox / Edge.

Windows

  • Windows 7 or later (for Windows 10 you will need 2 GB of RAM on your computer).
  • An Intel Pentium 4 processor or later manufactured after 2001.

Mac

Not recommended for High School
  • OS X Yosemite 10.10 or later required for Chrome / Firefox / Edge / Safari.
  • Grades 9–12 must use Microsoft Office applications for certain courses.
  • Publisher and Access are not compatible on a Mac.

Linux

Not recommended nor compatible

Chromebook

Not allowed

Tablet / iPad

Internet Connection

  • The software works over a wired connection (ADSL or Fibre) and Wi-Fi (3G / 4G / LTE / 5G).
  • Minimum connection speed: 4 Mbps or greater. ADSL and 3G meet the minimum requirements.

Software

Ignitia Technical Requirements

  • Ignitia operates on Windows® or Macintosh® operating systems.
  • Each user workstation must have Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (version 2015 or higher) or the latest version of a browser with built-in PDF support (e.g. Chrome or Firefox). Grade reports and other reports are generated as PDF files.

LanSchool

  • To be installed by the school for the Virtual Test Room (Grades 9–12).

Supported Browsers

  • Google Chrome version 49 or higher
  • Firefox version 44 / 45 or higher
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 11 (Windows 8 users must run Ignitia in the Desktop version of Internet Explorer)
  • Safari version 9 or higher

Browser Settings

  • Passwords: Disable features that automatically save passwords.
  • Disable AutoComplete — it can appear as a list of answers to choose from.
  • Caching: Enable caching, but set the browser to clear the cache when closed.
  • JavaScript: must be enabled for pages to render correctly.

Filtering / Firewall Whitelist

The following domains must be added to the whitelist of any filtering, proxy, or firewall programs in use:
