About the AOE
What is the Eisteddfod?
A complete virtual entry and performance platform for Performing and Creative Arts students, providing all the tools and support needed for a successful Eisteddfod experience.
The AOE believes the process of entering an Eisteddfod, whether playing a musical instrument or performing any art form, should be positive and enjoyable.
Discover new talents, develop self-confidence, and celebrate personal growth through participation.
Parents can easily record and enter their children through our virtual online platform.
This way of performing, removes the stress many children experience when performing in an unfamiliar environment.

What it costs
Entry Fees
R100 per entry.
There are no limits to the number of entries a participant may partake in.
One entry per category, with separate sub-categories allowed where applicable.
Entry and submission fees are not refundable.
Reference for payment: Student Name and Surname.

Judging & Age Groups
Age is calculated on 31 December 2026.

Judges will not award category winners or highest marks. All participants receive feedback and an electronic certificate.

Video entries
Recording Requirements
A professional recording is not required.
Keep the camera stationary and frame the full performance area clearly.
Use a plain or neutral background where possible.
Ensure sufficient front lighting — avoid backlighting from windows.
Do not use lighting effects.
No backtracks — a capella without accompaniment.
Do not edit the video in any way, including auto-tuning. (Performance Categories only — not applicable to Virtual Video entries.)

Complete the student information section — one form must be submitted per entry.
Upload proof of payment together with the entry submission (video, JPEG, report, or scanned document).
No Entry / Submission Form will be accepted without proof of payment of R100 per entry.
Registration will be confirmed by the AOE Office.
Participation is restricted to the online and virtual format only.
No editing is permitted in any Performance Category. Editing is allowed only in Virtual Video Categories.
Participants must comply with all applicable copyright requirements.

Use this first form to register a participant for the Active Online Eisteddfod. One registration sets up the learner for the event.
